The Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) has recognized Continental’s performance as an outstanding investor with an award. No other company has created more new jobs in the country in recent times.

Péter Szijjártó, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, and HIPA President Róbert Esik praised the major contribution that Continental has made to the Hungarian economy and to Hungarian society as a result.

The two Hungarian companies ContiTech Fluid Automotive Hungaria (Mobile Fluid Systems) in Makó and ContiTech Hungary (Air Spring Systems, Compounding) in Nyíregyháza are currently expanding their production capacities. In Makó ContiTech is investing some 16 million euros in 216 new jobs. A 9,000 m² extension is currently being built there to house new extrusion lines, vulcanization ovens and production machinery. In addition, a new 5,000 m² warehouse building is set to open as early as May, and the office space is also being expanded.

At the award ceremony Mihály Nagy, General Manager of ContiTech Fluid Automotive, declared that more expansions can also be expected in the future. And Makó’s mayor, Éva Erzsébet Farkas, emphasized the important role that the company plays in her city: “ContiTech safeguards the livelihoods of many families and supports other development projects in Makó as a result of its corporation taxes.”

Another 681 new jobs are being created mainly in Nyíregyháza in a further 16-million-euro project for a future heating and cooling lines production.
